McLachlan returns to library
The Town of Inlet Public Library welcomes back Bob McLachlan for the summer story time program. McLachlan will read story favorites to your children and grandchildren as well as tell his famous “Moosie and the Bear” stories every Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. beginning July 4.
The program, for children ages two and up, will finish on Aug. 29.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Golfers rally for a good cause
The ladies of the Thendara Golf Club’s Nine Hole League are taking part in the Rally for the Cure, a breast cancer awareness campaign to be held on Tuesday, July 8 at the golf course.  This year marks more than 10 years that the league has pledged its support and teed off against breast cancer.
A field of more than 30 women golfers is expected for the Rally, and all golfers are invited to join this effort and play 9 holes for the cure.  The entry fee is $20 with checks payable to Rally For The Cure. Non-club members’ golf and cart fees are payable at the Pro Shop on Tuesday.
Tee times will be assigned and play will commence at 11:20 a.m. with a scramble format.
All paid golfers, guests and non-golfers will receive early detection breast cancer information, a rally pink ribbon golf pin, a one-year subscription to one magazine, including Golf For Women, Golf Digest, Self, Architectural Digest, Bon Appetit, or Conde Nast Portfolio, and other surprises related to golf.
All of the administration costs of the Rally for the Cure are covered by Golf For Women magazine. As part of the Rally for the Cure activities, a closest-to-the-pin contest is planned at the par 3 rally hole number 5
Cancer awareness bracelets will be available for purchase, with all proceeds to further support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and its research for breast cancer.
After completing the round of golf, participants will gather to remember and pay tribute to family and friends whose lives have been affected by cancer. Donations from interested individuals may be sent to Judy Foley at PO Box 232, Old Forge, NY 13420.
Golfers may sign up at the Thendara Golf Course, with a member of the golf league, or by calling Judy Foley at (315) 369-3282. All participants are encouraged to wear pink to show support for the Rally For The Cure.
