The Elegua Duo, consisting of Claire Black playing piano and Ginevra Ventre playing cello, will open the summer concert series in Long Lake with a performance at the United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, July 3.
Black is a native of Long Lake and an award-winning pianist who has performed solo and chamber music recitals extensively throughout North America. Ventre, from Silver Springs, Md., is an active champion of both classical and contemporary music, performing a wide variety of solo and ensemble repertoire.
The Elegua Duo specializes in bringing the classics of the cello-piano duo repertoire to venues outside the concert hall, from neighborhood cafes to college campuses and other such community-based settings. The Elegua Duo will perform chamber music by Brahms, Beethoven and Chopin.
