The program, “Three days at Gettysburg: July 1-3, 1863,” will be presented by Cheryl Pula at 7:30 p.m. on July 1 at the Old Forge Library.
Pula, a reference librarian, will give a presentation on the events leading up to the battle and the three days of the battle itself, including why General Robert E. Lee undertook the campaign, the response of the Federal Army, and why Gettysburg became the site of the battle.
She will also discuss the Battle for Little Round Top, Pickett’s Charge, and the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg in 1863.
Pula is a member of several Civil War organizations, and she has given many Civil War presentations on topics.
Refreshments will be served after the program. It is free and open to the public. For more information call the Old Forge Library at (315) 369-6008.
